Pocket Rock-it is a rock trinket added in The Spitshine Update.

Effects

  • Grants a luck-based chance for Golem to shoot a rocket projectile that loosely homes in towards enemies and constantly fire tiny tears at the closest target. Upon landing, the rocket projectile detonates into a pattern of spectral tears based on the color of the rocket:
    • Black: Creates a ring of 6 tears that make a wide orbit around the point of impact for a few seconds.
    • Red: Creates a cluster of 9 tears in the shape of a rocket that linger in the air for a few seconds — 5 of the tears create a bracket-like shape behind the rocket, while 4 tears make up a thin cone in the front.
    • Yellow: Creates a splash of 9 arced tears in random directions.
    • Green: Creates a ring of 8 tears that make an orbit that pulses in size, weaving through the point of impact for a few seconds.

Notes

  • The chance to fire a rocket projectile is equal to (10 × Trinket Multiplier) + ((Luck ÷ 10) × 0.15) × 100%, with luck being capped at a maximum of 10, resulting in a 25% chance at 10 luck without trinket multipliers.
  • Rocket projectiles have greatly increased range, but have 33% slower shot speed.
  • The rate at which rockets in flight fire tears at targets is approximately 4 tears every second.
  • All tears created by rocket projectiles, both while in flight an after detonating, deal 35% of Golem's damage and will inherit some of his tear effects.
  • Rockets will only home onto enemies that are within 120° in front of it, and will make wide turns when doing so.
    • At the correct angle, this can occasionally cause them to make circles around an enemy in an attempt to hit them, firing tears at their target while doing so. This works best when the target is stationary.

Interactions

  • Mom's Box.png Trinket Multipliers / Henge Rock Henge Rock: Multiplies the base chance to fire a rocket projectile.
  • Mom's Knife.png Mom's Knife: Throwing the knife has a chance of launching a rocket projectile.
  • Dr. Fetus.png Dr. Fetus: Shooting bombs have a chance of launching a rocket projectile.
    • NOTE: This interaction is bugged, as the rocket projectiles will usually immediately collide with the bombs shot by the player.
  • Epic Fetus.png Epic Fetus: Rocket projectiles won't be fired while controlling the missile crosshair, nor when the missile explodes.
  • Brimstone.png Brimstone / Technology.png Technology: Shooting laser beams will have a chance to launch a rocket projectile. Rockets themselves will not shoot lasers.
  • Ipecac.png Ipecac: Rockets and the tears they create will become explosive and can poison enemies.
  • The Ludovico Technique.png The Ludovico Technique: Golem has a chance to shoot a rocket projectile towards the direction of the Ludovico tear, while in uncleared rooms.
  • Incubus.png Incubus / Twisted Pair.png Twisted Pair: Each familiar will have its own chance to fire a rocket projectile.
    • NOTE: This interaction is bugged, as the rockets shot by the familiars won't home in onto enemies or shoot them with tears.
  • Technology Zero.png Technology Zero: Will chain electricity between rockets and the tears shot by the rockets with Golem's tears.
    • NOTE: This interaction is bugged, as each spark connecting between tears will also have a chance of causing Golem to shoot another rocket, which can result in an infinite loop.
  • Spirit Sword.png Spirit Sword: Swinging the sword and charging the spin attack won't launch rocket projectiles.
  • C Section.png C Section: Rocket projectiles and the tears created by rocket projectiles will home in and constantly deal damage over time to enemies, like regular fetus tears.
  • ForgorCoopIcon.png The Forgotten / TForgorCoopIcon.png Tainted Forgotten : Swinging and throwing the bone club won't launch a rocket projectile.
  • Azurite Spindown Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Pocket Rock-it rerolls it into Atlas' Burden Atlas' Burden.

Trivia

  • Pocket Rock-it was designed by one of the winners of the Stronger Than Golem challenge, Danial.
  • If the player is holding Pocket Rock-it and has the Filter enabled in the options menu, then picks up 20-20.png 20/20, the Filter option will be turned off.
    • This was explicitly requested as a joke feature by the designer of Pocket Rock-it, Danial, due to their disdain for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth's filter option.
